What to specify
- Vision panels. See-through panels let drivers and pedestrians spot each other before the door opens.
- Light curtains. Full-height safety light curtains in the frame stop the door closing on anything.
- Breakaway bottom bars. Bottom bars that release on impact to limit damage to the door and the vehicle.
- Self-repairing curtains. After a knock, many curtains reset themselves automatically instead of waiting for an engineer.
- Inverter drives. Soft start and stop protect the curtain and drive at high cycle rates.
What this work can involve
- Interlocking two high-speed doors as an airlock between a clean production area and the general warehouse.
- Replacing a worn fabric curtain, bottom bar and drive belt on a door logging thousands of cycles a week.
- Installing an insulated spiral door as the main external opening on a temperature-controlled distribution unit.
Powered door rules that apply in Bexhill-on-Sea
Bexhill-on-Sea is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.
Keeping your site running during the work
Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Questions from businesses in Bexhill-on-Sea
Do high-speed doors in Bexhill-on-Sea need more servicing than standard doors?
Usually, yes, because they cycle so often. We base the service interval on the cycle counter and the manufacturer's guidance rather than a fixed annual visit, and can set up a planned maintenance schedule.
Do you repair high-speed doors across East Sussex?
Yes. We repair fabric and spiral high-speed doors across East Sussex, including curtains, bottom bars, drives, inverters and safety devices, subject to parts availability. Repair visits are chargeable and quoted up front.
Can you fit a high-speed door alongside our existing door in Bexhill-on-Sea?
Often, yes. A high-speed door can sit inside or outside an existing shutter or sectional door, with the conventional door closed at night. We check the space and fixings on survey.
