High-speed doors in Surrey

In short

For openings in Surrey that cycle hundreds of times a day, we fit high-speed doors with inverter drives, breakaway bottom bars and controls tuned to the traffic that uses them.

Area: Surrey
Nation: England
Main town: Guildford
Survey: Free for new installations

What to specify

Self-repairing curtains. Many fabric doors re-feed into the guides after an impact on the next cycle.
Light curtains. Full-height safety light curtains in the frame stop the door closing on anything.
Spiral doors. Rigid insulated slats on a spiral for fast, secure, wind-resistant external doors.
Fabric doors. Lightweight roll-up curtains that suit most internal doorways and many protected external ones.
Smart activation. The door opens only for the traffic you choose, from forklifts on loops to pedestrians on buttons.

Jobs we can carry out

Setting up radar with cross-traffic suppression so a door on a busy aisle opens only for approaching traffic.
Adding a high-speed fabric door inside an existing sectional door so the outer door can stay open during the shift.
Replacing a worn fabric curtain, bottom bar and drive belt on a door logging thousands of cycles a week.

Powered door rules that apply in Surrey

Surrey is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Keeping your site running during the work

For busy sites in the South East the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.

Your questions about high-speed doors

Do you repair high-speed doors across the South East?

Yes. We repair fabric and spiral high-speed doors across the South East, including curtains, bottom bars, drives, inverters and safety devices, subject to parts availability. Repair visits are chargeable and quoted up front.

Do high-speed doors in Surrey need more servicing than standard doors?

Usually, yes, because they cycle so often. We base the service interval on the cycle counter and the manufacturer's guidance rather than a fixed annual visit, and can set up a planned maintenance schedule.

Can you fit a high-speed door alongside our existing door in Surrey?

Often, yes. A high-speed door can sit inside or outside an existing shutter or sectional door, with the conventional door closed at night. We check the space and fixings on survey.
