High-speed doors in Shepherd's Bush

The short version

For openings in Shepherd's Bush that cycle hundreds of times a day, we fit high-speed doors with inverter drives, breakaway bottom bars and controls tuned to the traffic that uses them.

Town: Shepherd's Bush
Postcode district: W12
Area: Greater London
Survey: Free for new installations

What to specify

Light curtains. Sensors along the side frames watch the whole opening and keep the door open while it is occupied.
Breakaway bottom bars. Bottom bars that release on impact to limit damage to the door and the vehicle.
Self-repairing curtains. After a knock, many curtains reset themselves automatically instead of waiting for an engineer.
Inverter drives. Soft start and stop protect the curtain and drive at high cycle rates.
Vision panels. Clear vision strips or windows so drivers can see through the closed door.

What this work can involve

Setting up radar with cross-traffic suppression so a door on a busy aisle opens only for approaching traffic.
Adding a high-speed fabric door inside an existing sectional door so the outer door can stay open during the shift.
Installing an insulated spiral door as the main external opening on a temperature-controlled distribution unit.

Safety law for industrial doors in England

Industrial doors in Shepherd's Bush are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

Planning the work around your site

Sites in and around Shepherd's Bush vary from tight trade counters to large distribution yards. The survey records access for our vehicle and platform, overhead obstructions and floor condition so the installation day runs without surprises.

Your questions about high-speed doors

Do you repair high-speed doors across Greater London?

Yes. We repair fabric and spiral high-speed doors across Greater London, including curtains, bottom bars, drives, inverters and safety devices, subject to parts availability. Repair visits are chargeable and quoted up front.

Which type of high-speed door suits our Shepherd's Bush site?

Fabric doors suit most internal openings and many sheltered external ones. Spiral doors suit exposed external openings and sites that need insulation and security from the same door. We recommend a type after looking at traffic, exposure and temperature on the survey.

How long does it take to install a high-speed door in Shepherd's Bush?

A typical fabric door is fitted and commissioned in a day once it arrives. Spiral doors, interlocks and floor loops add time. The manufacturer's lead time is confirmed with your quote, and we fit around your operations.
