Fixed price. You receive the price in writing once the survey is done, and it is agreed before anyone starts work.

What this work can involve

Replacing corroded roller shutters on a vehicle workshop with insulated roller doors and new key-switch controls.
Installing a fire shutter in a compartment wall where a conveyor line passes between production and dispatch areas.
Specifying and fitting a complete goods-in bay with sectional door, hydraulic dock leveller, retractable shelter and bollards.

Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Bridlington?

In England, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.

Planning the work around your site

For busy sites in the East Riding of Yorkshire the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.
