Powered door rules that apply in Alloa

Alloa is in Scotland, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Access, phasing and timing

For busy sites in Forth Valley the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.

Industrial door installation in Alloa: your questions

Is the survey free for sites in Alloa?

Yes, for new installations and replacements. We measure the opening and the space around it, check fixings, power and obstructions, and talk through how the door is used before preparing a written quote. Repair and service visits are charged separately.

Which door types do you install in Alloa?

Roller shutters, insulated roller doors, sectional overhead doors, high-speed doors, fire shutters, sliding and folding doors, hangar doors, cold store doors, steel personnel doors, traffic doors and strip curtains, plus loading bay equipment such as levellers and shelters.

How soon could a new door be installed at our Alloa premises?

It depends mainly on the manufacturer's lead time for a made-to-measure door, which we confirm in the quote. Installation is then booked around your operations, and most single doors are fitted and commissioned in a day.
