Town: Chadderton
Postcode district: OL9
Area: Greater Manchester
Survey: Free for new installations

What to specify

Drives and controls. Direct, centre or chain drive motors with buttons, remotes, loops, radar or interlocks.
All door types. One installer for every common industrial door, from simple shutters to fire-rated and high-speed doors.
Conformity paperwork. Handover includes the product and machinery conformity documents plus commissioning records.
Loading equipment. The door, leveller, shelter and impact protection are specified together so the whole bay works as one.
Free survey. Opening, headroom, obstructions, fixings and power all measured before we quote.

Typical scopes of work

Supplying a bottom-rolling sliding door for a wide opening where there is no headroom for a coiled or tracked door.
Phasing the replacement of several loading bay doors over consecutive weekends so goods-in stays open during the week.
Replacing corroded roller shutters on a vehicle workshop with insulated roller doors and new key-switch controls.

Powered door rules that apply in Chadderton

Chadderton is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.
