Examples of work we can quote for

Fitting a freezer door with heated frame and inside release to a new cold room within a food production unit.

Safety law for industrial doors in England

Industrial doors in Hythe are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

How the work is organised

Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Industrial door installation in Hythe: your questions

Is the survey free for sites in Hythe?

Yes, for new installations and replacements. We measure the opening and the space around it, check fixings, power and obstructions, and talk through how the door is used before preparing a written quote. Repair and service visits are charged separately.

Which door types do you install in Hythe?

Roller shutters, insulated roller doors, sectional overhead doors, high-speed doors, fire shutters, sliding and folding doors, hangar doors, cold store doors, steel personnel doors, traffic doors and strip curtains, plus loading bay equipment such as levellers and shelters.

Who signs off a new powered door at our Hythe site?

When we assemble or motorise a door, we take on the manufacturer's role under machinery law: risk assessment, testing, conformity marking and the Declaration of Conformity. You then keep the door maintained as the employer or occupier.
