Town: Borehamwood
Postcode district: WD6
Area: Hertfordshire
Survey: Free for new installations

What to specify

Fixed price. A written fixed price confirmed after the survey, before any work begins.
Free survey. We measure and inspect the opening first, so the price reflects your building rather than a guess.
Safety set-up. Powered doors fitted with safety edges or light curtains and force-tested to BS EN 12453.
Conformity paperwork. Handover includes the product and machinery conformity documents plus commissioning records.
All door types. Roller shutters, insulated roller, sectional, high-speed, fire, sliding, hangar and cold store doors.

What this work can involve

Fitting sectional doors, a high-speed internal door and steel personnel doors to a new-build warehouse as one coordinated package.
Phasing the replacement of several loading bay doors over consecutive weekends so goods-in stays open during the week.
Installing a fire shutter in a compartment wall where a conveyor line passes between production and dispatch areas.

Safety law for industrial doors in England

Industrial doors in Borehamwood are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

Planning the work around your site

For busy sites in Hertfordshire the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.
