Powered door rules that apply in Forres

Forres is in Scotland, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Keeping your site running during the work

Before work starts we send a method statement and risk assessment, confirm who on site will be our contact and agree where materials and access equipment will go. On shared industrial estates that can mean booking yard space with the landlord.

Your questions about industrial door installation

Who signs off a new powered door at our Forres site?

When we assemble or motorise a door, we take on the manufacturer's role under machinery law: risk assessment, testing, conformity marking and the Declaration of Conformity. You then keep the door maintained as the employer or occupier.

How much does industrial door installation cost in Forres?

Guide prices, ex VAT and supplied and fitted, start at £2,395 to £5,495 for an electric single-skin roller shutter up to about 4 × 4 m, or £3,495 to £8,495 for an insulated sectional door. Your fixed price in Forres is confirmed in writing after a free survey.

Can you replace an old door at our Forres unit and take the old one away?

Yes. Strip-out and disposal of the old door is priced as a separate line, along with any new framing or making good the opening needs. We confirm these details at survey so nothing is left to agree on the day.
