Industrial door installation in Airdrie

The short version

Facilities and site managers in Airdrie can use one contractor to specify, install and commission industrial doors and the loading equipment around them, so one team is responsible for the whole opening.

Town: Airdrie
Postcode district: ML6
Area: Lanarkshire
Survey: Free for new installations

What to specify

Safety set-up. Each motorised door gets the safety devices its risk assessment calls for and is force-tested before use.
Free survey. Opening, headroom, obstructions, fixings and power all measured before we quote.
Conformity paperwork. Declaration of Performance, Declaration of Conformity and user instructions on handover.
Drives and controls. Direct, centre or chain drive motors with buttons, remotes, loops, radar or interlocks.
Loading equipment. The door, leveller, shelter and impact protection are specified together so the whole bay works as one.

Examples of work we can quote for

Adding a high-speed fabric door inside an existing shutter so the main door can stay open through the working day.
Installing a fire shutter in a compartment wall where a conveyor line passes between production and dispatch areas.
Fitting sectional doors, a high-speed internal door and steel personnel doors to a new-build warehouse as one coordinated package.

Powered door rules that apply in Airdrie

Airdrie is in Scotland, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

How the work is organised

Most installations in Airdrie can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.

Yes, for new installations and replacements. We measure the opening and the space around it, check fixings, power and obstructions, and talk through how the door is used before preparing a written quote. Repair and service visits are charged separately.
