What we fit in Oakham

Conformity paperwork. Declaration of Performance, Declaration of Conformity and user instructions on handover.
Drives and controls. Motors sized to the door and controls matched to your traffic, from a key switch to induction loops.
Aftercare. Once fitted, we can service the door on a schedule and repair it, along with doors from other installers.
Fixed price. A written fixed price confirmed after the survey, before any work begins.
Loading equipment. Dock levellers, shelters, seals, bollards and guide protection fitted alongside the door.

What this work can involve

Installing a fire shutter in a compartment wall where a conveyor line passes between production and dispatch areas.
Phasing the replacement of several loading bay doors over consecutive weekends so goods-in stays open during the week.
Specifying and fitting a complete goods-in bay with sectional door, hydraulic dock leveller, retractable shelter and bollards.

Safety law for industrial doors in England

Industrial doors in Oakham are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

How the work is organised

Downtime matters on a working site, so the programme is set around your shifts. For a single door the opening is usually needed for a day; multi-door jobs are done one bay at a time so deliveries keep moving.

Industrial door installation in Oakham: your questions

Which door types do you install in Oakham?

Roller shutters, insulated roller doors, sectional overhead doors, high-speed doors, fire shutters, sliding and folding doors, hangar doors, cold store doors, steel personnel doors, traffic doors and strip curtains, plus loading bay equipment such as levellers and shelters.

Can you replace an old door at our Oakham unit and take the old one away?

Yes. Strip-out and disposal of the old door is priced as a separate line, along with any new framing or making good the opening needs. We confirm these details at survey so nothing is left to agree on the day.

Who signs off a new powered door at our Oakham site?

When we assemble or motorise a door, we take on the manufacturer's role under machinery law: risk assessment, testing, conformity marking and the Declaration of Conformity. You then keep the door maintained as the employer or occupier.
