Industrial door installation in Taunton

Quick answer

Facilities and site managers in Taunton can use one contractor to specify, install and commission industrial doors and the loading equipment around them, so one team is responsible for the whole opening.

Town: Taunton
Postcode district: TA1
Area: Somerset
Survey: Free for new installations

What to specify

Drives and controls. Direct, centre or chain drive motors with buttons, remotes, loops, radar or interlocks.
Fixed price. You receive the price in writing once the survey is done, and it is agreed before anyone starts work.
Conformity paperwork. Handover includes the product and machinery conformity documents plus commissioning records.
Aftercare. Once fitted, we can service the door on a schedule and repair it, along with doors from other installers.
Loading equipment. Dock levellers, shelters, seals, bollards and guide protection fitted alongside the door.

Examples of work we can quote for

Fitting sectional doors, a high-speed internal door and steel personnel doors to a new-build warehouse as one coordinated package.
Replacing corroded roller shutters on a vehicle workshop with insulated roller doors and new key-switch controls.
Fitting a freezer door with heated frame and inside release to a new cold room within a food production unit.

Safety law for industrial doors in England

Industrial doors in Taunton are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

Access, phasing and timing

Sites in and around Taunton vary from tight trade counters to large distribution yards. The survey records access for our vehicle and platform, overhead obstructions and floor condition so the installation day runs without surprises.

Frequently asked questions

Who signs off a new powered door at our Taunton site?

When we assemble or motorise a door, we take on the manufacturer's role under machinery law: risk assessment, testing, conformity marking and the Declaration of Conformity. You then keep the door maintained as the employer or occupier.

How much does industrial door installation cost in Taunton?

Guide prices, ex VAT and supplied and fitted, start at £2,395 to £5,495 for an electric single-skin roller shutter up to about 4 × 4 m, or £3,495 to £8,495 for an insulated sectional door. Your fixed price in Taunton is confirmed in writing after a free survey.

Is the survey free for sites in Taunton?

Yes, for new installations and replacements. We measure the opening and the space around it, check fixings, power and obstructions, and talk through how the door is used before preparing a written quote. Repair and service visits are charged separately.
