Powered door rules that apply in Tamworth

Tamworth is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Planning the work around your site

For busy sites in Staffordshire the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.

Questions from businesses in Tamworth

How soon could a new door be installed at our Tamworth premises?

It depends mainly on the manufacturer's lead time for a made-to-measure door, which we confirm in the quote. Installation is then booked around your operations, and most single doors are fitted and commissioned in a day.

Yes, for new installations and replacements. We measure the opening and the space around it, check fixings, power and obstructions, and talk through how the door is used before preparing a written quote. Repair and service visits are charged separately.

Yes. We repair and maintain the doors we install and most other makes across Staffordshire. Repair and service visits are chargeable, and a planned maintenance schedule can be set up once the new door is in.
