What to specify
- Foam-filled laths. Double-skin laths with a polyurethane core cut heat loss compared with single skin.
- Weather seals. Brush or rubber guide seals and a rubber bottom seal against draughts and rain.
- Wind locks. On exposed elevations, wind locks hook the laths into the guides so gusts cannot push the curtain out.
- Controls. Buttons, key switches, remotes, induction loops or radar to suit your traffic.
- Colour choice. Powder-coated RAL finishes to match cladding and building trims.
Jobs we can carry out
- Fitting an insulated roller door to a trade counter unit where sprinkler mains leave no room for sectional door tracks.
- Renewing worn guide brushes, the head seal and the bottom-rail seal on an insulated roller door that lets in draughts.
- Fitting a compact insulated service door to a plant room to reduce the noise reaching neighbouring offices.
Safety law for industrial doors in England
Industrial doors in Loughton are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.
How the work is organised
Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.
Guide prices
| Item | Guide price (ex VAT) |
|---|---|
| Insulated roller door, electric (to c. 4 × 4 m) | £3,195 – £7,495 |
| Strip-out and disposal on replacement | £345 – £1,195 per door |
Guide prices for supply and installation unless stated, excluding VAT, which is added at the current rate where it applies. Your fixed price is confirmed in writing after a survey, before any work starts.
Your questions about insulated roller shutter doors
Will an insulated roller door cut heating bills at our Loughton premises?
It loses much less heat than a single-skin shutter, especially with good seals and quick electric operation. How much you save depends on your building, heating system and how long the door stays open.
Can you replace our old roller shutter in Loughton with an insulated one?
Yes. We recommend a complete new door rather than a new curtain on old parts, and include strip-out and disposal in the quote so the old shutter goes when the new one is fitted.
How long does insulated roller door installation take in Loughton?
Most single doors are fitted and commissioned in a day once the made-to-measure door has arrived. The manufacturer's lead time is confirmed with your quote so you can plan around it.
