What we fit in Walthamstow

Electric drive. Motor inside the barrel or on its end, with a chain or handle so the door still opens without power.
Controls. Buttons, key switches, remotes, induction loops or radar to suit your traffic.
Wind locks. Lath end locks for exposed or wide doors to stop the curtain blowing out.
Foam-filled laths. Double-skin laths with a polyurethane core cut heat loss compared with single skin.
Safety devices. Every powered door gets the safety functions its risk assessment calls for and is tested before handover.

What this work can involve

Fitting a compact insulated service door to a plant room to reduce the noise reaching neighbouring offices.
Converting a hand-chained insulated roller door to electric operation with a safety edge and photocells.
Fitting an insulated roller door to a trade counter unit where sprinkler mains leave no room for sectional door tracks.

Powered door rules that apply in Walthamstow

Walthamstow is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

How the work is organised

Downtime matters on a working site, so the programme is set around your shifts. For a single door the opening is usually needed for a day; multi-door jobs are done one bay at a time so deliveries keep moving.

Frequently asked questions

Can you replace our old roller shutter in Walthamstow with an insulated one?

Yes. We recommend a complete new door rather than a new curtain on old parts, and include strip-out and disposal in the quote so the old shutter goes when the new one is fitted.

Will an insulated roller door cut heating bills at our Walthamstow premises?

It loses much less heat than a single-skin shutter, especially with good seals and quick electric operation. How much you save depends on your building, heating system and how long the door stays open.

Is there enough headroom for an insulated roller door at our Walthamstow unit?

The coil on an insulated curtain is larger than on a single-skin shutter, so we measure the space above the lintel on survey. Where headroom is very tight, the coil can sometimes be fitted outside the opening or a lower-profile option chosen.
