Options that matter on site
- No power. With no electrics involved, the curtain keeps working with only cleaning and strip renewal.
- Ribbed strips. Raised ribs take forklift and pallet abrasion, keeping strips clearer for longer.
- Traffic passes freely. People, trolleys and forklifts push straight through the overlapping strips.
- Hook-on strips. Worn strips lift off and new ones hook on in seconds.
- Sliding rails. Where big loads come through, the curtain can slide or swing out of the way.
What this work can involve
- Supplying replacement strips cut to length for existing hook-on rails across several doorways in one visit.
- Fitting ribbed PVC strip curtains inside loading bay doors so the doors can stay open between deliveries.
- Adding a swing-away rail so a strip curtain can be moved clear for long or oversized loads.
Traffic route rules that apply in Walthamstow
Strip curtains sit on workplace traffic routes, so in England the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 apply: traffic routes must be organised so pedestrians and vehicles can move safely (regulation 17) and kept in good repair (regulation 5). That is why clear strips, good visibility and prompt replacement of scratched or missing strips matter.
Access, phasing and timing
Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Frequently asked questions
Which strip curtain grade suits our Walthamstow premises?
Standard clear PVC suits most ambient doorways. Polar grade is needed for chillers and freezers, ribbed strips for heavy forklift routes, and tinted grades for insect control or welding areas. We recommend a grade after seeing the opening.
Do strip curtains work in cold stores around Greater London?
Yes, with polar-grade PVC that stays flexible at low temperatures. We fit strip curtains inside cold store and freezer doors across Greater London to cut the cold air lost while doors are open.
Can you supply replacement strips for our existing curtains in Walthamstow?
Yes. We supply replacement strips cut to the right length for your existing rail, matched to the grade and width already fitted, and can fit them or leave them for your team.
