Safety law for industrial doors in England

Industrial doors in Walthamstow are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

How the work is organised

If your premises are leased, check whether the landlord needs to approve the work. We can provide drawings and product data for the landlord or managing agent before the order is placed.

Frequently asked questions

Do you take the old door away from our Walthamstow site?

Yes. Strip-out includes removing the old door, springs, guides and drive from site for recycling or disposal. It is priced as a separate line in the quote so you can see exactly what removal costs.

Should we repair or replace our door in Walthamstow?

If the door has several faults, recurring problems or parts that are no longer made, replacement is often better value. We price repair and replacement side by side so you can decide on cost and remaining life.

How long will our opening in Walthamstow be out of use?

The new door is made to measure before the old one is removed, so a single door is usually stripped out and replaced in a day, with the opening secured again by the end of the visit.
