Options for insulated roller shutter doors in Islington

Compact coil. The curtain coils above the opening, leaving ceilings free for lights and sprinklers.
Electric drive. Motor inside the barrel or on its end, with a chain or handle so the door still opens without power.
Wind locks. Lath end locks for exposed or wide doors to stop the curtain blowing out.
Controls. Buttons, key switches, remotes, induction loops or radar to suit your traffic.
Foam-filled laths. Double-skin laths with a polyurethane core cut heat loss compared with single skin.

Jobs we can carry out

Fitting an insulated roller door to a trade counter unit where sprinkler mains leave no room for sectional door tracks.
Adding wind locks and a heavier geared motor to a wide insulated roller door on an exposed elevation.
Installing an insulated roller door with induction loop activation on a busy internal forklift route.

Safety law for industrial doors in England

Industrial doors in Islington are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

Planning the work around your site

Electrical work is the part that most often delays a job. If a new or converted door needs a supply, we confirm the motor's requirement at quote stage so your electrician can provide an isolator in the right place before installation day.

Questions from businesses in Islington

How long does insulated roller door installation take in Islington?

Most single doors are fitted and commissioned in a day once the made-to-measure door has arrived. The manufacturer's lead time is confirmed with your quote so you can plan around it.

Will an insulated roller door cut heating bills at our Islington premises?

It loses much less heat than a single-skin shutter, especially with good seals and quick electric operation. How much you save depends on your building, heating system and how long the door stays open.

Is there enough headroom for an insulated roller door at our Islington unit?

The coil on an insulated curtain is larger than on a single-skin shutter, so we measure the space above the lintel on survey. Where headroom is very tight, the coil can sometimes be fitted outside the opening or a lower-profile option chosen.
