Insulated roller shutter doors in Wishaw

The short version

Tight headroom, cluttered ceiling, still need a warm door? For units in Wishaw (ML2), we can install insulated roller doors that coil neatly above the opening and leave the roof space completely clear.

Town: Wishaw
Postcode district: ML2
Area: Lanarkshire
Survey: Free for new installations

What to specify

Controls. From a simple button station to loops and radar, the controls match how often the door opens.
Electric drive. Motor inside the barrel or on its end, with a chain or handle so the door still opens without power.
Compact coil. The curtain coils above the opening, leaving ceilings free for lights and sprinklers.
Weather seals. Seals along the guides, head and bottom rail stop wind-driven rain and cold air getting in.
Foam-filled laths. Each lath has two metal skins with insulating foam between them, so the curtain holds heat far better.

Examples of work we can quote for

Fitting an insulated roller door to a trade counter unit where sprinkler mains leave no room for sectional door tracks.
Installing an insulated roller door with induction loop activation on a busy internal forklift route.
Supplying insulated roller doors in one matching RAL colour across a terrace of refurbished small business units.

Powered door rules that apply in Wishaw

Wishaw is in Scotland, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

How the work is organised

For busy sites in Lanarkshire the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.
