What to specify

Compact coil. No tracks under the roof: the door rolls up into a neat coil above the lintel.
Weather seals. Brush or rubber guide seals and a rubber bottom seal against draughts and rain.
Safety devices. Every powered door gets the safety functions its risk assessment calls for and is tested before handover.
Colour choice. Powder-coated RAL finishes to match cladding and building trims.
Wind locks. On exposed elevations, wind locks hook the laths into the guides so gusts cannot push the curtain out.

Typical scopes of work

Fitting an insulated roller door to a trade counter unit where sprinkler mains leave no room for sectional door tracks.
Replacing a corroded single-skin shutter on a heated workshop with an insulated roller door and radio remote control.
Installing an insulated roller door with induction loop activation on a busy internal forklift route.

Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Ystradgynlais?

In Wales, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an insulated roller shutter door cost in Ystradgynlais?

Our guide price for an electric insulated roller door up to about 4 × 4 m is £3,195 to £7,495 ex VAT, supplied and fitted. We survey your Ystradgynlais opening free of charge and then put a fixed price in writing.

Does a powered insulated roller door in Ystradgynlais need safety devices?

If the door closes automatically or can trap someone, yes. The risk assessment decides what is needed, typically a safety edge, photocells and closing forces tested to BS EN 12453, plus anti-fall protection on heavier curtains.

Will an insulated roller door cut heating bills at our Ystradgynlais premises?

It loses much less heat than a single-skin shutter, especially with good seals and quick electric operation. How much you save depends on your building, heating system and how long the door stays open.
