Loading bay safety in Wales
Dock levellers, shelters and restraints are work equipment, so in Ystradgynlais the business running the site must keep them in efficient working order under PUWER 1998, and keep traffic routes safe under the Workplace Regulations 1992. Dock levellers are built to BS EN 1398; powered loading bay doors are covered by the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 and BS EN 12453.
Fire shutter law in Wales
A fire shutter only does its job if it closes when needed. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, as it applies in Wales, the responsible person must keep fire safety equipment maintained in efficient working order, and keeping test records is the usual way to show it. Shutters must also stay as the manufacturer tested and certified them, so repairs should use the right parts. In Ystradgynlais, the enforcing authority is Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
Questions from businesses in Ystradgynlais
How quickly can you quote for a site in Ystradgynlais?
