What to specify

Electric drive. Tubular or external geared motors with a manual override for power cuts.
Safety devices. Safety edges, photocells and anti-fall devices fitted as the risk assessment requires.
Compact coil. No tracks under the roof: the door rolls up into a neat coil above the lintel.
Foam-filled laths. Each lath has two metal skins with insulating foam between them, so the curtain holds heat far better.
Weather seals. Brush or rubber guide seals and a rubber bottom seal against draughts and rain.

Examples of work we can quote for

Supplying insulated roller doors in one matching RAL colour across a terrace of refurbished small business units.
Fitting an insulated roller door to a trade counter unit where sprinkler mains leave no room for sectional door tracks.
Fitting a compact insulated service door to a plant room to reduce the noise reaching neighbouring offices.

Powered door rules that apply in Kidsgrove

Kidsgrove is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Access, phasing and timing

Electrical work is the part that most often delays a job. If a new or converted door needs a supply, we confirm the motor's requirement at quote stage so your electrician can provide an isolator in the right place before installation day.

Insulated roller shutter doors in Kidsgrove: your questions

Is there enough headroom for an insulated roller door at our Kidsgrove unit?

The coil on an insulated curtain is larger than on a single-skin shutter, so we measure the space above the lintel on survey. Where headroom is very tight, the coil can sometimes be fitted outside the opening or a lower-profile option chosen.

How much does an insulated roller shutter door cost in Kidsgrove?

Our guide price for an electric insulated roller door up to about 4 × 4 m is £3,195 to £7,495 ex VAT, supplied and fitted. We survey your Kidsgrove opening free of charge and then put a fixed price in writing.

Does a powered insulated roller door in Kidsgrove need safety devices?

If the door closes automatically or can trap someone, yes. The risk assessment decides what is needed, typically a safety edge, photocells and closing forces tested to BS EN 12453, plus anti-fall protection on heavier curtains.
