Wind locks. Lath end locks for exposed or wide doors to stop the curtain blowing out.
Colour choice. Powder-coated RAL finishes to match cladding and building trims.
Electric drive. Tubular or external geared motors with a manual override for power cuts.
Compact coil. No tracks under the roof: the door rolls up into a neat coil above the lintel.

What this work can involve

Installing an insulated roller door with induction loop activation on a busy internal forklift route.
Adding wind locks and a heavier geared motor to a wide insulated roller door on an exposed elevation.
Fitting a compact insulated service door to a plant room to reduce the noise reaching neighbouring offices.

Powered door rules that apply in Bromsgrove

Bromsgrove is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

How the work is organised

Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Frequently asked questions

Does a powered insulated roller door in Bromsgrove need safety devices?

If the door closes automatically or can trap someone, yes. The risk assessment decides what is needed, typically a safety edge, photocells and closing forces tested to BS EN 12453, plus anti-fall protection on heavier curtains.

Can you replace our old roller shutter in Bromsgrove with an insulated one?

Yes. We recommend a complete new door rather than a new curtain on old parts, and include strip-out and disposal in the quote so the old shutter goes when the new one is fitted.

Is there enough headroom for an insulated roller door at our Bromsgrove unit?

The coil on an insulated curtain is larger than on a single-skin shutter, so we measure the space above the lintel on survey. Where headroom is very tight, the coil can sometimes be fitted outside the opening or a lower-profile option chosen.
