Options that matter on site

Controls. Buttons, key switches, remotes, induction loops or radar to suit your traffic.
Foam-filled laths. Each lath has two metal skins with insulating foam between them, so the curtain holds heat far better.
Wind locks. Lath end locks for exposed or wide doors to stop the curtain blowing out.
Safety devices. Every powered door gets the safety functions its risk assessment calls for and is tested before handover.
Compact coil. The curtain coils above the opening, leaving ceilings free for lights and sprinklers.

What this work can involve

Renewing worn guide brushes, the head seal and the bottom-rail seal on an insulated roller door that lets in draughts.
Fitting an insulated roller door to a trade counter unit where sprinkler mains leave no room for sectional door tracks.
Converting a hand-chained insulated roller door to electric operation with a safety edge and photocells.

Powered door rules that apply in Evesham

Evesham is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Planning the work around your site

Electrical work is the part that most often delays a job. If a new or converted door needs a supply, we confirm the motor's requirement at quote stage so your electrician can provide an isolator in the right place before installation day.

Insulated roller shutter doors in Evesham: your questions

Can you replace our old roller shutter in Evesham with an insulated one?

Yes. We recommend a complete new door rather than a new curtain on old parts, and include strip-out and disposal in the quote so the old shutter goes when the new one is fitted.

Does a powered insulated roller door in Evesham need safety devices?

If the door closes automatically or can trap someone, yes. The risk assessment decides what is needed, typically a safety edge, photocells and closing forces tested to BS EN 12453, plus anti-fall protection on heavier curtains.

Is there enough headroom for an insulated roller door at our Evesham unit?

The coil on an insulated curtain is larger than on a single-skin shutter, so we measure the space above the lintel on survey. Where headroom is very tight, the coil can sometimes be fitted outside the opening or a lower-profile option chosen.
