What we fit in Newton Abbot
- Records. You receive a record of the devices fitted and the tests carried out.
- Warning devices. Beacons, sounders and traffic lights to warn people of a moving door.
- Force testing. Closing forces measured against BS EN 12453 limits and recorded.
- Fall protection. If a spring, cable or drive fails, the door is caught before it falls.
- Panel upgrades. Where the old panel cannot monitor devices, we replace it with one that can.
Examples of work we can quote for
- Replacing a damaged or bypassed safety edge on a yard roller shutter and re-testing its closing forces.
- Fitting a full-height light curtain to an automatic sectional door on a busy pedestrian route.
- Upgrading an old relay control panel so monitored safety edges and photocells can be connected to it.
Powered door rules that apply in Newton Abbot
Newton Abbot is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.
How the work is organised
For busy sites in Devon the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.
