In short
Is a powered door at your Haverhill site missing safety devices, or are they damaged or bypassed? We bring older doors up to date with monitored safety edges, photocells, light curtains and fall protection.

What to specify
- Force testing. We measure how hard the door closes and record the results at each test point.
- Light curtains. Full-height multi-beam detection across the whole opening.
- Photocells. If something breaks the beam, the door will not close.
- Panel upgrades. Where the old panel cannot monitor devices, we replace it with one that can.
- Safety edges. Edges on the closing rail detect contact and send the door back up.
What this work can involve
- Adding anti-fall devices to heavy roller shutters identified in a workplace risk assessment review.
- Force-testing a run of loading bay doors and adjusting closing speeds where results exceed the limits.
- Adding warning beacons and photocells to a door that is being converted to automatic closing on a timer.
Safety law for industrial doors in England
Industrial doors in Haverhill are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.
Access, phasing and timing
Sites in and around Haverhill vary from tight trade counters to large distribution yards. The survey records access for our vehicle and platform, overhead obstructions and floor condition so the installation day runs without surprises.

Questions from businesses in Haverhill
Do our powered doors in Haverhill need safety upgrades?
It depends on how they are controlled and used. Doors that close automatically or on a single press typically need edges and photocells or light curtains. A survey and force test shows whether your doors meet current expectations.
How much does a door safety upgrade cost in Haverhill?
Our guide price is £445 to £1,795 ex VAT per door for safety edges, photocells or a light curtain, depending on door size and devices. A new control panel or fall protection adds to it. We confirm the fixed price after a survey and force test in Haverhill.
Can you force-test our doors in Haverhill?
Yes. We measure closing forces with a calibrated tester at the points set out in BS EN 12453, record the results and recommend any adjustments or devices needed. Force testing can be part of a service visit.
