What we fit in Leighton Buzzard

Track layouts. We pick the track after measuring headroom and obstructions, so the door clears lights, sprinklers and crane rails.
Safety devices. Every powered door is fitted with the safety functions its risk assessment needs and force-tested before handover.
Insulated panels. 40 mm PU-insulated steel panels as standard, with thicker thermal panels where heat loss matters.
Electric drives. Shaft-mounted motors with push-button, remote, loop or radar control, and inverter drives for high-cycle bays.
Vision panels. Add a row of vision panels or full-vision aluminium sections for daylight and a clear view of vehicles outside.

Typical scopes of work

Renewing torsion springs and lift cables on a busy loading bay door, with higher-cycle springs where the usage justifies them.
Supplying full-vision aluminium sections for a vehicle workshop door so technicians get daylight without opening the door.
Supplying sectional doors in a RAL colour matched to the existing cladding as part of a unit refurbishment between tenants.

Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Leighton Buzzard?

In England, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.

Frequently asked questions

Which safety devices does a powered sectional door in Leighton Buzzard need?

That comes from the risk assessment for your site, but typically a safety edge or light curtain, spring-break and cable-break protection and limited closing forces tested to BS EN 12453. Busy pedestrian routes may call for more.

Can you replace a roller shutter with a sectional door at our Leighton Buzzard unit?

Usually, yes, provided there is enough headroom and side room for the tracks. Low-headroom track kits cover many older units. We check this on the survey and include strip-out and making good in the quote.

How much is a sectional overhead door in Leighton Buzzard?

Our guide price for an electric, 40 mm insulated sectional door up to about 4 × 4.5 m is £3,495 to £8,495 ex VAT, supplied and fitted. The fixed price for your opening in Leighton Buzzard is confirmed in writing after a free survey.
