Options for sectional overhead doors in Stroud

Safety devices. Spring-break and cable-break protection, safety edges, photocells or light curtains, set up to BS EN 12453.
Paperwork. You get the manufacturer's Declaration of Performance plus commissioning and test records for your files.
Electric drives. Shaft-mounted motors with push-button, remote, loop or radar control, and inverter drives for high-cycle bays.
Vision panels. Add a row of vision panels or full-vision aluminium sections for daylight and a clear view of vehicles outside.
Insulated panels. 40 mm PU-insulated steel panels as standard, with thicker thermal panels where heat loss matters.

Jobs we can carry out

Converting a manual chain-operated sectional door to electric operation with a shaft-mounted motor, safety edge and photocells.
Adding induction loops and an inverter drive so forklifts can open a busy internal sectional door without stopping.
Installing a sectional door on low-headroom tracks in a steel-framed unit where the roof haunch sits close above the opening.

Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Stroud?

In England, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.

Access, phasing and timing

Sites in and around Stroud vary from tight trade counters to large distribution yards. The survey records access for our vehicle and platform, overhead obstructions and floor condition so the installation day runs without surprises.

Sectional overhead doors in Stroud: your questions

Can you replace a roller shutter with a sectional door at our Stroud unit?

Usually, yes, provided there is enough headroom and side room for the tracks. Low-headroom track kits cover many older units. We check this on the survey and include strip-out and making good in the quote.

How much is a sectional overhead door in Stroud?

Our guide price for an electric, 40 mm insulated sectional door up to about 4 × 4.5 m is £3,495 to £8,495 ex VAT, supplied and fitted. The fixed price for your opening in Stroud is confirmed in writing after a free survey.

Will a sectional door reduce heating costs at our Stroud premises?

An insulated, well-sealed sectional door loses much less heat than a single-skin shutter, and keeping it closed with fast electric operation helps further. Actual savings depend on your building, heating and how often the door is open.
