What we fit in Letchworth Garden City

Safety devices. Every powered door is fitted with the safety functions its risk assessment needs and force-tested before handover.
Paperwork. Declaration of Performance, user instructions and commissioning records handed over on completion.
Insulated panels. 40 mm PU-insulated steel panels as standard, with thicker thermal panels where heat loss matters.
Wicket doors. A pass door built into the panels saves opening the whole door for pedestrians; low-threshold options reduce trips.
Electric drives. Shaft-mounted motors with push-button, remote, loop or radar control, and inverter drives for high-cycle bays.

Jobs we can carry out

Installing a sectional door on low-headroom tracks in a steel-framed unit where the roof haunch sits close above the opening.
Converting a manual chain-operated sectional door to electric operation with a shaft-mounted motor, safety edge and photocells.
Supplying full-vision aluminium sections for a vehicle workshop door so technicians get daylight without opening the door.

Powered door rules that apply in Letchworth Garden City

Letchworth Garden City is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

How the work is organised

Electrical work is the part that most often delays a job. If a new or converted door needs a supply, we confirm the motor's requirement at quote stage so your electrician can provide an isolator in the right place before installation day.
