Options for sliding and folding industrial doors in Billericay

Robust build. Steel frames carry cladding to suit the building, from profiled steel to timber boarding.
Folding leaves. Where there is little wall either side, folding leaves concertina into a compact stack.
Insulated options. Leaves can be filled with insulated panels and sealed along their edges to cut heat loss.
Electric operation. Motor drives with safety edges, photocells and guarding where needed.
Top-hung or bottom-rolling. We hang the door from above or run it on a floor rail depending on what the building can support.

Jobs we can carry out

Automating a pair of heavy bi-parting sliding doors with a drive motor, safety edges and photocells.
Replacing a damaged floor rail and guide wheels on a bottom-rolling door struck by a vehicle.
Adding a steel support beam and top-hung track so a sliding door leaves the floor flush for forklifts.

Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Billericay?

In England, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.

Planning the work around your site

Electrical work is the part that most often delays a job. If a new or converted door needs a supply, we confirm the motor's requirement at quote stage so your electrician can provide an isolator in the right place before installation day.

Your questions about sliding and folding industrial doors

Do you fit sliding doors on farm buildings around Essex?

Yes. We supply and fit steel sliding doors on agricultural buildings across Essex, including timber-clad leaves, bottom-rolling gear for lightweight portal frames and wicket doors so staff and livestock handlers can get in without opening the main leaves.

Can our existing sliding doors in Billericay be motorised?

Often, if the leaves and track are in good condition. We assess the doors, fit a drive and the safety devices needed, and take on the conformity responsibilities that come with converting a manual door to power.
