Options that matter on site

Insulated options. Leaves can be filled with insulated panels and sealed along their edges to cut heat loss.
Wicket doors. Pass doors built into a leaf so staff need not open the whole door.
Wide spans. Openings of almost any width split into as many leaves as needed.
Folding leaves. Where there is little wall either side, folding leaves concertina into a compact stack.
No headroom needed. Leaves move sideways, so nothing coils above or runs under the roof.

Jobs we can carry out

Fitting bi-folding doors to a maintenance workshop where overhead gantry cranes rule out a roller shutter or sectional door.
Replacing a damaged floor rail and guide wheels on a bottom-rolling door struck by a vehicle.
Renewing seized trolleys and a distorted overhead track on large sliding doors to a vehicle shed.

Powered door rules that apply in Rosyth

Rosyth is in Scotland, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Keeping your site running during the work

Downtime matters on a working site, so the programme is set around your shifts. For a single door the opening is usually needed for a day; multi-door jobs are done one bay at a time so deliveries keep moving.

Questions from businesses in Rosyth

Which is better for our Rosyth site, top-hung or bottom-rolling?

Top-hung keeps the floor flush but needs a strong structure overhead. Bottom-rolling suits lighter buildings but needs a clean, protected floor rail. We recommend one after checking both on survey.

Will a sliding door fit our building in Rosyth?

It needs wall space to the side for the leaves to slide past, or room for folded leaves to stack. We measure this on survey and choose between sliding, telescopic and folding layouts to suit what is there.

Can our existing sliding doors in Rosyth be motorised?

Often, if the leaves and track are in good condition. We assess the doors, fit a drive and the safety devices needed, and take on the conformity responsibilities that come with converting a manual door to power.
