Options that matter on site
- No headroom needed. Leaves move sideways, so nothing coils above or runs under the roof.
- Electric operation. Motor drives with safety edges, photocells and guarding where needed.
- Insulated options. Insulated panel infill and edge seals for heated buildings.
- Wicket doors. Pass doors built into a leaf so staff need not open the whole door.
- Folding leaves. Where there is little wall either side, folding leaves concertina into a compact stack.
Examples of work we can quote for
- Fitting bi-folding doors to a maintenance workshop where overhead gantry cranes rule out a roller shutter or sectional door.
- Replacing worn timber sliding doors on a storage building with steel-framed bottom-rolling doors and a wicket door.
- Installing telescopic sliding doors where the wall space to one side is limited by an adjoining structure.
Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Gloucestershire?
In England, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.
Keeping your site running during the work
Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Sliding and folding industrial doors in Gloucestershire: your questions
How long does it take to fit sliding doors in Gloucestershire?
A pair of manual sliding doors on a sound structure is usually fitted in a day or two. Large folding doors, electric operation and new steelwork add time, which we set out with your quote.
Can our existing sliding doors in Gloucestershire be motorised?
Often, if the leaves and track are in good condition. We assess the doors, fit a drive and the safety devices needed, and take on the conformity responsibilities that come with converting a manual door to power.
How much do sliding or folding industrial doors cost in Gloucestershire?
Our guide price is £5,995 to £24,995 ex VAT, supplied and fitted, depending on size, number of leaves, infill and whether the doors are manual or electric. After a free survey in Gloucestershire we confirm the fixed price in writing.
