What to specify

Wicket doors. Pass doors built into a leaf so staff need not open the whole door.
Robust build. Steel frames carry cladding to suit the building, from profiled steel to timber boarding.
Top-hung or bottom-rolling. We hang the door from above or run it on a floor rail depending on what the building can support.
Folding leaves. Bi-folding leaves stack neatly where side wall space is limited.
Electric operation. Motor drives with safety edges, photocells and guarding where needed.

Examples of work we can quote for

Supplying insulated sliding leaves with edge seals for a converted building now used as a heated workshop.
Replacing a damaged floor rail and guide wheels on a bottom-rolling door struck by a vehicle.
Replacing worn timber sliding doors on a storage building with steel-framed bottom-rolling doors and a wicket door.

Powered door rules that apply in Gloucester

Gloucester is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Access, phasing and timing

Most installations in Gloucester can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.

Your questions about sliding and folding industrial doors

Will a sliding door fit our building in Gloucester?

It needs wall space to the side for the leaves to slide past, or room for folded leaves to stack. We measure this on survey and choose between sliding, telescopic and folding layouts to suit what is there.

How much do sliding or folding industrial doors cost in Gloucester?

Our guide price is £5,995 to £24,995 ex VAT, supplied and fitted, depending on size, number of leaves, infill and whether the doors are manual or electric. After a free survey in Gloucester we confirm the fixed price in writing.

How long does it take to fit sliding doors in Gloucester?

A pair of manual sliding doors on a sound structure is usually fitted in a day or two. Large folding doors, electric operation and new steelwork add time, which we set out with your quote.
