Quick answer
Strip curtains are the simplest way to part-close a busy opening in Gloucester (GL1). Hook-on strips make wear easy to deal with, ribbed strips cope with forklifts, and polar grades keep working in freezers.

Options for PVC strip curtains in Gloucester
- Traffic passes freely. People, trolleys and forklifts push straight through the overlapping strips.
- Sliding rails. Sliding or swing-away rails move the curtain clear for oversized loads.
- Draught control. A curtain across the opening holds back draughts and helps keep temperatures steady.
- No power. With no electrics involved, the curtain keeps working with only cleaning and strip renewal.
- Polar grade. Low-temperature PVC that stays flexible in chillers and freezers.
Typical scopes of work
- Installing weld-screen strip curtains around welding bays in a fabrication workshop to protect nearby staff.
- Fitting anti-insect strips to the rear door of a bakery or food unit to deter flying insects.
- Fitting ribbed PVC strip curtains inside loading bay doors so the doors can stay open between deliveries.
Keeping strip curtains safe in England
The business running the site in Gloucester must keep traffic routes safe and equipment maintained under the Workplace Regulations 1992. For strip curtains that means clear, undamaged strips that let drivers and pedestrians see each other, and a separate pedestrian route where traffic is heavy.
Access, phasing and timing
Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a PVC strip curtain in Gloucester?
Our guide price is £175 to £895 ex VAT per doorway, supplied and fitted, depending on opening size, strip grade and rail type. We confirm the fixed price for your openings in Gloucester in writing after a free survey.
Is a strip curtain or a high-speed door better for our Gloucester site?
A strip curtain costs far less and suits most openings. A high-speed door seals better, keeps a clear view and suits very busy or temperature-critical openings. We price both where either could work.
Which strip curtain grade suits our Gloucester premises?
Standard clear PVC suits most ambient doorways. Polar grade is needed for chillers and freezers, ribbed strips for heavy forklift routes, and tinted grades for insect control or welding areas. We recommend a grade after seeing the opening.
