Options for cold store and freezer doors in Gloucester
- Heated frames. Heater cables in freezer door frames stop ice welding the seals shut.
- Inside release. Every door can be opened from inside without a key, even if locked from outside.
- Tight seals. The leaf pulls in against its gaskets on closing so cold air stays where it belongs.
- Hygienic finishes. Smooth, cleanable finishes chosen to meet your hygiene and audit standards.
- Electric sliding. Motorised sliding doors with pull cords, radar or loops and safety edges.
Examples of work we can quote for
- Fitting freezer-grade PVC strip curtains behind cold store doors that stand open during loading.
- Replacing an iced-up sliding freezer door with a new insulated door, heated frame and heated threshold.
- Protecting new cold store door frames with steel buffers and bollards on a busy forklift route.
Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Gloucester?
In England, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.
Planning the work around your site
Most installations in Gloucester can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.

Every cold store door should open from inside without a key or tool, even when locked from outside. We fit a clearly marked inside release and can add an alarm button connected to a monitored panel.

Yes. We replace gaskets, frame heaters, rollers, tracks, releases and drives on most makes. Repair visits are chargeable, and we quote before larger repairs or recommend replacement when the leaf itself has failed.

Yes. We supply and fit cold store doors with hygienic finishes for food producers, processors, distributors and commercial kitchens across Gloucestershire, and we talk through your hygiene, cleaning and audit requirements at the survey before recommending a finish.
