What we fit in Woolwich
- Insulated options. Leaves can be filled with insulated panels and sealed along their edges to cut heat loss.
- Wide spans. Openings of almost any width split into as many leaves as needed.
- Folding leaves. Where there is little wall either side, folding leaves concertina into a compact stack.
- Electric operation. Motorised leaves with the safety devices needed to protect against crushing and shearing.
- No headroom needed. Leaves move sideways, so nothing coils above or runs under the roof.
Examples of work we can quote for
- Replacing a damaged floor rail and guide wheels on a bottom-rolling door struck by a vehicle.
- Renewing seized trolleys and a distorted overhead track on large sliding doors to a vehicle shed.
- Replacing worn timber sliding doors on a storage building with steel-framed bottom-rolling doors and a wicket door.
Powered door rules that apply in Woolwich
Woolwich is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.
How the work is organised
For busy sites in Greater London the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.
