What to specify

Electric operation. Motor drives with safety edges, photocells and guarding where needed.
Top-hung or bottom-rolling. We hang the door from above or run it on a floor rail depending on what the building can support.
No headroom needed. With side-opening leaves, cranes, lights and services overhead stay clear.
Robust build. Steel frames carry cladding to suit the building, from profiled steel to timber boarding.
Folding leaves. Bi-folding leaves stack neatly where side wall space is limited.

Typical scopes of work

Installing telescopic sliding doors where the wall space to one side is limited by an adjoining structure.
Renewing seized trolleys and a distorted overhead track on large sliding doors to a vehicle shed.
Replacing a damaged floor rail and guide wheels on a bottom-rolling door struck by a vehicle.

Powered door rules that apply in Portsmouth

Portsmouth is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Access, phasing and timing

Most installations in Portsmouth can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.
