Options for sliding and folding industrial doors in Batley
- Electric operation. Motorised leaves with the safety devices needed to protect against crushing and shearing.
- Robust build. Steel frames carry cladding to suit the building, from profiled steel to timber boarding.
- Top-hung or bottom-rolling. Weight carried overhead or on a floor rail, chosen to suit the structure.
- No headroom needed. With side-opening leaves, cranes, lights and services overhead stay clear.
- Wicket doors. Pass doors built into a leaf so staff need not open the whole door.
Examples of work we can quote for
- Renewing seized trolleys and a distorted overhead track on large sliding doors to a vehicle shed.
- Supplying insulated sliding leaves with edge seals for a converted building now used as a heated workshop.
- Adding a steel support beam and top-hung track so a sliding door leaves the floor flush for forklifts.
Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Batley?
In England, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.
Keeping your site running during the work
Sites in and around Batley vary from tight trade counters to large distribution yards. The survey records access for our vehicle and platform, overhead obstructions and floor condition so the installation day runs without surprises.

Questions from businesses in Batley
Will a sliding door fit our building in Batley?
It needs wall space to the side for the leaves to slide past, or room for folded leaves to stack. We measure this on survey and choose between sliding, telescopic and folding layouts to suit what is there.
How long does it take to fit sliding doors in Batley?
A pair of manual sliding doors on a sound structure is usually fitted in a day or two. Large folding doors, electric operation and new steelwork add time, which we set out with your quote.
Which is better for our Batley site, top-hung or bottom-rolling?
Top-hung keeps the floor flush but needs a strong structure overhead. Bottom-rolling suits lighter buildings but needs a clean, protected floor rail. We recommend one after checking both on survey.
