What we fit in Lincolnshire
- Panic hardware. Push bars to BS EN 1125 where the public or unfamiliar people may use the exit.
- Louvres and vision. Louvred leaves for plant rooms and vision panels where visibility helps.
- Emergency devices. Lever or push-pad devices to BS EN 179 for exits used by trained staff.
- Fire-rated doorsets. Fire-resisting steel doors with the manufacturer's test evidence, fitted to its instructions.
- Outside access. Staff can get in from outside with a key or code, but the exit always opens freely from inside.
Jobs we can carry out
- Supplying 60-minute fire-resisting steel doorsets for the compartment walls set out in a building's fire strategy.
- Fitting hinge bolts and a multi-point lock to a steel back door to resist levering and forced entry.
- Fitting a louvred double steel door to a plant room or electrical switch room to keep it ventilated and secure.
Door rules for workplaces in England
Doors in Lincolnshire workplaces are covered by regulation 18 of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992: a door that can be pushed open from either side must give, when closed, a clear view of the space close to both sides, which is why swing doors on traffic routes have vision panels. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, emergency exit doors must open easily and immediately in the direction of escape.
Keeping your site running during the work
Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Steel personnel and fire exit doors in Lincolnshire: your questions
Which fire exit hardware do we need at our Lincolnshire site?
If members of the public or people unfamiliar with the exit may use it, panic hardware to BS EN 1125 is normally required. Exits used only by trained staff who know the door can use emergency devices to BS EN 179. If in doubt, choose BS EN 1125.
Do you repair fire exit doors across the East Midlands?
Yes. We repair and replace panic bars, emergency devices, closers, hinges and locks on steel doors across the East Midlands. Repair visits are chargeable, and on fire-rated doors we only fit hardware covered by the door's test evidence.
How much is a steel personnel door in Lincolnshire?
Our guide price is £845 to £1,795 ex VAT for a single steel personnel door, or £1,095 to £2,395 for a steel fire exit door with panic hardware, supplied and fitted. We confirm the fixed price for your Lincolnshire premises in writing after a free survey.
