- Outside access. Key or code access from outside while the exit stays free from inside.
- Galvanised steel. Double-skin galvanised steel leaves with powder-coated finishes.
- Complete doorsets. Frame, leaf, hinges and hardware supplied as one set.
- Security options. From hinge bolts to certified security doorsets, the door can be specified to resist attack.
- Panic hardware. Where visitors or the public might need to escape, we fit full-width panic bars to BS EN 1125.
Jobs we can carry out
- Replacing a rotted timber fire exit door with a galvanised steel doorset and a BS EN 1125 panic bar.
- Installing a leaf-and-a-half steel doorset so equipment can pass through a plant room door when needed.
- Fitting hinge bolts and a multi-point lock to a steel back door to resist levering and forced entry.
Which workplace rules apply to these doors?
For premises in Huyton, the Workplace Regulations 1992 set the basics: doors suitably constructed, swing doors giving a clear view through when closed, and maintenance under regulation 5. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, an emergency exit door must open easily in the direction of travel and must not be locked or fastened so it cannot be opened immediately in an emergency.
How the work is organised
Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Your questions about steel personnel and fire exit doors
Which fire exit hardware do we need at our Huyton site?
If members of the public or people unfamiliar with the exit may use it, panic hardware to BS EN 1125 is normally required. Exits used only by trained staff who know the door can use emergency devices to BS EN 179. If in doubt, choose BS EN 1125.
How long does it take to replace a steel door in Huyton?
Most single steel doorsets are fitted in a day, including removal of the old door, fixing the new frame and making good. Made-to-measure doorsets have a manufacturing lead time, which we confirm with the quote.
Can you fit fire-rated steel doors in Huyton?
Yes. We supply fire-resisting steel doorsets with the manufacturer's test evidence for the rating your fire strategy needs, and install them strictly to the manufacturer's instructions, including seals, gaps and approved hardware.
