What to specify

Louvres and vision. Ventilation louvres for plant and switch rooms, and glazed panels where people need to see through.
Galvanised steel. Leaves made from two zinc-coated steel skins, finished in a hard-wearing powder coat.
Panic hardware. Push bars to BS EN 1125 where the public or unfamiliar people may use the exit.
Complete doorsets. Everything comes together as a matched doorset, so it fits and works as designed.
Security options. From hinge bolts to certified security doorsets, the door can be specified to resist attack.

Jobs we can carry out

Changing worn panic bars on fire exits and adjusting the overhead closers so each door latches properly.
Fitting a louvred double steel door to a plant room or electrical switch room to keep it ventilated and secure.
Fitting hinge bolts and a multi-point lock to a steel back door to resist levering and forced entry.

Door rules for workplaces in England

Doors in Kettering workplaces are covered by regulation 18 of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992: a door that can be pushed open from either side must give, when closed, a clear view of the space close to both sides, which is why swing doors on traffic routes have vision panels. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, emergency exit doors must open easily and immediately in the direction of escape.

Access, phasing and timing

Most installations in Kettering can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.
