Options that matter on site
- Traffic passes freely. People, trolleys and forklifts push straight through the overlapping strips.
- Ribbed strips. Raised ribs take forklift and pallet abrasion, keeping strips clearer for longer.
- Hook-on strips. Replace a single damaged strip without taking the whole curtain down.
- Sliding rails. Where big loads come through, the curtain can slide or swing out of the way.
- No power. No motors, sensors or controls, so almost nothing to go wrong.
What this work can involve
- Fitting ribbed PVC strip curtains inside loading bay doors so the doors can stay open between deliveries.
- Supplying replacement strips cut to length for existing hook-on rails across several doorways in one visit.
- Replacing scratched, cloudy strips on a forklift route so drivers and pedestrians can see each other clearly.
Traffic route rules that apply in Blackheath
Strip curtains sit on workplace traffic routes, so in England the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 apply: traffic routes must be organised so pedestrians and vehicles can move safely (regulation 17) and kept in good repair (regulation 5). That is why clear strips, good visibility and prompt replacement of scratched or missing strips matter.
Planning the work around your site
Downtime matters on a working site, so the programme is set around your shifts. For a single door the opening is usually needed for a day; multi-door jobs are done one bay at a time so deliveries keep moving.

PVC strip curtains in Blackheath: your questions
How quickly can strip curtains be fitted in Blackheath?
Once strips are cut to length, fitting usually takes an hour or two per doorway, so several openings can often be completed in one visit with very little disruption to your operations.
How much is a PVC strip curtain in Blackheath?
Our guide price is £175 to £895 ex VAT per doorway, supplied and fitted, depending on opening size, strip grade and rail type. We confirm the fixed price for your openings in Blackheath in writing after a free survey.
Is a strip curtain or a high-speed door better for our Blackheath site?
A strip curtain costs far less and suits most openings. A high-speed door seals better, keeps a clear view and suits very busy or temperature-critical openings. We price both where either could work.
