The short version
Strip curtains are the simplest way to part-close a busy opening in Prestwich (M25). Hook-on strips make wear easy to deal with, ribbed strips cope with forklifts, and polar grades keep working in freezers.

What we fit in Prestwich
- No power. With no electrics involved, the curtain keeps working with only cleaning and strip renewal.
- Sliding rails. Where big loads come through, the curtain can slide or swing out of the way.
- Traffic passes freely. Nothing to open or close: traffic simply pushes through and the strips drop back.
- Polar grade. Low-temperature PVC that stays flexible in chillers and freezers.
- Ribbed strips. Ribs protect the clear face of each strip from scratches on busy vehicle routes.
Jobs we can carry out
- Replacing scratched, cloudy strips on a forklift route so drivers and pedestrians can see each other clearly.
- Adding a swing-away rail so a strip curtain can be moved clear for long or oversized loads.
- Fitting ribbed PVC strip curtains inside loading bay doors so the doors can stay open between deliveries.
Traffic route rules that apply in Prestwich
Strip curtains sit on workplace traffic routes, so in England the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 apply: traffic routes must be organised so pedestrians and vehicles can move safely (regulation 17) and kept in good repair (regulation 5). That is why clear strips, good visibility and prompt replacement of scratched or missing strips matter.
Keeping your site running during the work
Before work starts we send a method statement and risk assessment, confirm who on site will be our contact and agree where materials and access equipment will go. On shared industrial estates that can mean booking yard space with the landlord.

Frequently asked questions
Do strip curtains work in cold stores around Greater Manchester?
Yes, with polar-grade PVC that stays flexible at low temperatures. We fit strip curtains inside cold store and freezer doors across Greater Manchester to cut the cold air lost while doors are open.
How often should strip curtains in Prestwich be replaced?
It depends on traffic. Pedestrian doorways can go years between changes; busy forklift routes need new strips sooner. Replace any strip that is torn, cloudy or badly scratched so visibility stays good.
How quickly can strip curtains be fitted in Prestwich?
Once strips are cut to length, fitting usually takes an hour or two per doorway, so several openings can often be completed in one visit with very little disruption to your operations.
