PVC strip curtains in Galashiels

Quick answer

Losing heat or chilled air through a door left open all day at your Galashiels site? A PVC strip curtain lets people and vehicles pass freely while cutting draughts, dust, noise and insects.

Options for PVC strip curtains in Galashiels

Ribbed strips. Ribs protect the clear face of each strip from scratches on busy vehicle routes.
Polar grade. Freezer-grade strips stay soft and pliable instead of stiffening in the cold.
Draught control. Strips cut the loss of heated or chilled air through busy openings.
No power. With no electrics involved, the curtain keeps working with only cleaning and strip renewal.
Traffic passes freely. Nothing to open or close: traffic simply pushes through and the strips drop back.

Examples of work we can quote for

Supplying polar-grade strips for a freezer doorway where standard PVC stiffens and cracks in the cold.
Replacing scratched, cloudy strips on a forklift route so drivers and pedestrians can see each other clearly.
Fitting anti-insect strips to the rear door of a bakery or food unit to deter flying insects.

Traffic route rules that apply in Galashiels

Strip curtains sit on workplace traffic routes, so in Scotland the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 apply: traffic routes must be organised so pedestrians and vehicles can move safely (regulation 17) and kept in good repair (regulation 5). That is why clear strips, good visibility and prompt replacement of scratched or missing strips matter.

How the work is organised

For busy sites in the Scottish Borders the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.

Your questions about PVC strip curtains

Is a strip curtain or a high-speed door better for our Galashiels site?

A strip curtain costs far less and suits most openings. A high-speed door seals better, keeps a clear view and suits very busy or temperature-critical openings. We price both where either could work.

Which strip curtain grade suits our Galashiels premises?

Standard clear PVC suits most ambient doorways. Polar grade is needed for chillers and freezers, ribbed strips for heavy forklift routes, and tinted grades for insect control or welding areas. We recommend a grade after seeing the opening.

Can you supply replacement strips for our existing curtains in Galashiels?

Yes. We supply replacement strips cut to the right length for your existing rail, matched to the grade and width already fitted, and can fit them or leave them for your team.
