What we fit in South Glamorgan
- Ribbed strips. Raised ribs take forklift and pallet abrasion, keeping strips clearer for longer.
- Polar grade. Freezer-grade strips stay soft and pliable instead of stiffening in the cold.
- Specialist grades. Tinted strips for insect control or welding bays, and anti-static grades where needed.
- No power. No motors, sensors or controls, so almost nothing to go wrong.
- Traffic passes freely. Nothing to open or close: traffic simply pushes through and the strips drop back.
Examples of work we can quote for
- Hanging a polar-grade strip curtain behind a cold store door to reduce the cold air lost during loading.
- Installing weld-screen strip curtains around welding bays in a fabrication workshop to protect nearby staff.
- Supplying replacement strips cut to length for existing hook-on rails across several doorways in one visit.
Traffic route rules that apply in South Glamorgan
Strip curtains sit on workplace traffic routes, so in Wales the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 apply: traffic routes must be organised so pedestrians and vehicles can move safely (regulation 17) and kept in good repair (regulation 5). That is why clear strips, good visibility and prompt replacement of scratched or missing strips matter.
How the work is organised
Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Questions from businesses in South Glamorgan
Which strip curtain grade suits our South Glamorgan premises?
Standard clear PVC suits most ambient doorways. Polar grade is needed for chillers and freezers, ribbed strips for heavy forklift routes, and tinted grades for insect control or welding areas. We recommend a grade after seeing the opening.
How often should strip curtains in South Glamorgan be replaced?
It depends on traffic. Pedestrian doorways can go years between changes; busy forklift routes need new strips sooner. Replace any strip that is torn, cloudy or badly scratched so visibility stays good.
Can you supply replacement strips for our existing curtains in South Glamorgan?
Yes. We supply replacement strips cut to the right length for your existing rail, matched to the grade and width already fitted, and can fit them or leave them for your team.
