Options that matter on site
- Ribbed strips. Raised ribs take forklift and pallet abrasion, keeping strips clearer for longer.
- No power. With no electrics involved, the curtain keeps working with only cleaning and strip renewal.
- Draught control. Strips cut the loss of heated or chilled air through busy openings.
- Polar grade. Low-temperature PVC that stays flexible in chillers and freezers.
- Specialist grades. Anti-insect, anti-static and weld-screen strips for specific areas.
Typical scopes of work
- Supplying polar-grade strips for a freezer doorway where standard PVC stiffens and cracks in the cold.
- Replacing scratched, cloudy strips on a forklift route so drivers and pedestrians can see each other clearly.
- Fitting ribbed PVC strip curtains inside loading bay doors so the doors can stay open between deliveries.
Keeping strip curtains safe in Wales
The business running the site in Barry must keep traffic routes safe and equipment maintained under the Workplace Regulations 1992. For strip curtains that means clear, undamaged strips that let drivers and pedestrians see each other, and a separate pedestrian route where traffic is heavy.
Access, phasing and timing
Downtime matters on a working site, so the programme is set around your shifts. For a single door the opening is usually needed for a day; multi-door jobs are done one bay at a time so deliveries keep moving.

PVC strip curtains in Barry: your questions
Do strip curtains work in cold stores around South Glamorgan?
Yes, with polar-grade PVC that stays flexible at low temperatures. We fit strip curtains inside cold store and freezer doors across South Glamorgan to cut the cold air lost while doors are open.
Is a strip curtain or a high-speed door better for our Barry site?
A strip curtain costs far less and suits most openings. A high-speed door seals better, keeps a clear view and suits very busy or temperature-critical openings. We price both where either could work.
Can you supply replacement strips for our existing curtains in Barry?
Yes. We supply replacement strips cut to the right length for your existing rail, matched to the grade and width already fitted, and can fit them or leave them for your team.
