PVC strip curtains in Crawley

In short

Losing heat or chilled air through a door left open all day at your Crawley site? A PVC strip curtain lets people and vehicles pass freely while cutting draughts, dust, noise and insects.

Town: Crawley
Postcode district: RH11
Area: West Sussex
Survey: Free for new installations

What to specify

Ribbed strips. Ribs protect the clear face of each strip from scratches on busy vehicle routes.
Sliding rails. Where big loads come through, the curtain can slide or swing out of the way.
Hook-on strips. Worn strips lift off and new ones hook on in seconds.
Traffic passes freely. People, trolleys and forklifts push straight through the overlapping strips.
Draught control. Strips cut the loss of heated or chilled air through busy openings.

Typical scopes of work

Supplying replacement strips cut to length for existing hook-on rails across several doorways in one visit.
Fitting anti-insect strips to the rear door of a bakery or food unit to deter flying insects.
Supplying polar-grade strips for a freezer doorway where standard PVC stiffens and cracks in the cold.

Traffic route rules that apply in Crawley

Strip curtains sit on workplace traffic routes, so in England the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 apply: traffic routes must be organised so pedestrians and vehicles can move safely (regulation 17) and kept in good repair (regulation 5). That is why clear strips, good visibility and prompt replacement of scratched or missing strips matter.

Access, phasing and timing

Sites in and around Crawley vary from tight trade counters to large distribution yards. The survey records access for our vehicle and platform, overhead obstructions and floor condition so the installation day runs without surprises.

Questions from businesses in Crawley

Do strip curtains work in cold stores around West Sussex?

Yes, with polar-grade PVC that stays flexible at low temperatures. We fit strip curtains inside cold store and freezer doors across West Sussex to cut the cold air lost while doors are open.

How quickly can strip curtains be fitted in Crawley?

Once strips are cut to length, fitting usually takes an hour or two per doorway, so several openings can often be completed in one visit with very little disruption to your operations.

How often should strip curtains in Crawley be replaced?

It depends on traffic. Pedestrian doorways can go years between changes; busy forklift routes need new strips sooner. Replace any strip that is torn, cloudy or badly scratched so visibility stays good.
