Options that matter on site
- Wear protection. Kick plates and bumper strips take the knocks at trolley height.
- Vision panels. Clear panels at eye level so people see each other before pushing through.
- Hinge options. Rising-cam gravity hinges or spring hinges matched to leaf weight.
- Double-acting. Push through from either side and the leaves close themselves behind you.
- Impact-tolerant. Polyethylene and rubber leaves flex or absorb knocks from trolleys and trucks.
Typical scopes of work
- Installing insulated traffic doors between a chilled preparation room and an ambient packing area.
- Supplying rubber traffic doors for a busy pallet truck route in a parcel sorting warehouse.
- Replacing worn strip curtains with hygienic traffic doors in a food production area to make cleaning easier.
Door rules for workplaces in Scotland
Doors in Inverurie workplaces are covered by regulation 18 of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992: a door that can be pushed open from either side must give, when closed, a clear view of the space close to both sides, which is why swing doors on traffic routes have vision panels. Under the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006, emergency exit doors must open easily and immediately in the direction of escape.
How the work is organised
Downtime matters on a working site, so the programme is set around your shifts. For a single door the opening is usually needed for a day; multi-door jobs are done one bay at a time so deliveries keep moving.
