Options that matter on site
- Wear protection. Kick plates and bumper strips take the knocks at trolley height.
- Leaf choices. Polyethylene, rubber, insulated or stainless-faced leaves to suit the area.
- No power needed. No motors, sensors or controls to maintain.
- Hygienic surfaces. Smooth, washable leaves suited to food and pharmaceutical areas.
- Hinge options. Rising-cam gravity hinges or spring hinges matched to leaf weight.
Typical scopes of work
- Fitting polyethylene traffic doors between a shop floor and stockroom where roll cages damage ordinary doors.
- Installing insulated traffic doors between a chilled preparation room and an ambient packing area.
- Replacing single-swing kitchen doors with stainless-faced double-acting doors and vision panels at eye level.
Door rules for workplaces in England
Doors in Wednesbury workplaces are covered by regulation 18 of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992: a door that can be pushed open from either side must give, when closed, a clear view of the space close to both sides, which is why swing doors on traffic routes have vision panels. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, emergency exit doors must open easily and immediately in the direction of escape.
Planning the work around your site
Before work starts we send a method statement and risk assessment, confirm who on site will be our contact and agree where materials and access equipment will go. On shared industrial estates that can mean booking yard space with the landlord.

Impact traffic doors in Wednesbury: your questions
Are traffic doors suitable for forklift routes at our Wednesbury warehouse?
Generally not. Forklifts are too heavy and fast for most traffic doors and quickly damage the leaves. For forklift routes we would usually recommend a high-speed door or a strip curtain instead.
How much do impact traffic doors cost in Wednesbury?
Our guide price is £895 to £2,495 ex VAT for a pair of impact traffic doors, supplied and fitted. Material, size, insulation and vision panels set the price, which we confirm in writing after a free survey in Wednesbury.
Do you fit traffic doors in food premises around the West Midlands?
Yes. We fit hygienic polyethylene, insulated and stainless steel traffic doors in food production, catering and retail sites across the West Midlands, with the leaf material chosen to suit your cleaning regime, chemicals and audit requirements.
