Industrial door work in Ossett
Our teams cover Ossett (WF5) and nearby Dewsbury, Batley, Wakefield, along with the rest of West Yorkshire.
Downtime matters on a working site, so the programme is set around your shifts. For a single door the opening is usually needed for a day; multi-door jobs are done one bay at a time so deliveries keep moving.
What the law expects at a loading bay
Across Great Britain, including Ossett, loading bays bring together several duties: maintained work equipment under PUWER 1998, safe traffic routes under the Workplace Regulations 1992, and safe powered doors under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008. Dock levellers should meet BS EN 1398, and the site's risk assessment should cover vehicle creep and drive-aways.
Fire safety duties for shutters in Ossett
In England, fire shutters are part of the fire precautions the responsible person must keep maintained under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005: in efficient working order and in good repair. Testing at suitable intervals and keeping the results is expected good practice and supports your fire risk assessment. Enforcement in Ossett is by the local fire and rescue authority.
Questions from businesses in Ossett
Do you repair doors you didn't install at Ossett sites?
Yes. We repair and service most makes of industrial door and dock leveller, subject to parts availability, and record each door's details on the first visit.
Do prices in West Yorkshire differ from the guide prices?
Guide prices apply to mainland UK sites. For islands and remote sites, travel and access costs are added and shown in your quote. Your fixed price depends on the door, size, access and working hours, and is confirmed in writing after the survey.
Is the survey free for sites in Ossett?
Surveys for new doors, replacements and loading bay installations are free. Repair and servicing visits are chargeable, with the attendance price agreed before we come out.
What paperwork do we get after an installation in Ossett?
User instructions, the manufacturer's Declaration of Performance and, for powered doors, the conformity documents and commissioning records. Keep them with your health and safety file.
